PATS Distinguished Merit Award
The Distinguished Merit Award is awarded to a nationally certified athletic trainer who has been in practice for a minimum of ten years and who has held offices and/or committee positions, been involved in liaison activities, public law activities, and other organizational administrative, or public relations activities at the national, district, and state levels. The individual must have held positions in the state directly related to athletic training, sports medicine, fitness, health, or athletics; promoted athletic training in Pennsylvania not related to PATS; and been involved in coverage of regional and state level athletic events separate from regular, full-time employment duties. The Distinguished Merit Awardee also must be involved in publication of research and done presentations to peers and/or other health care professionals, as well as promote athletic training at conferences and/or symposia.
